General rules
-
General
- Items must be uploaded separately under their corresponding category (and brand, if applicable).
- You should only have one listing per item (except for bundle listings—please see below).
- All items should have an appropriate item condition assigned to them.
- The maximum item value allowed in our platform is CAD$9,999.
- Bundle listings (sets) must include the words ‘bundle’ or ‘set’ in the listing title and description. Each bundle listing must indicate the total price for all items in the bundle. Items included in the bundle cannot be listed separately.
- Your listing or profile description cannot refer to external websites that facilitate sales outside of our platform.
- You are responsible for compliance with all applicable laws relating to the sale of your item.
-
IP policy
- Uploading counterfeit items on our platform is strictly prohibited. Counterfeit items usually copy or imitate a company's trademark (e.g. name of the brand, product and/or logo) without permission. They may also copy the distinct features of that company’s product (e.g. the shape of a perfume bottle or the specific pattern of a bag). Selling counterfeit items may expose sellers to civil and criminal charges.
- Members can only upload items that they are sure are authentic. They cannot add a disclaimer to their listing saying they cannot confirm whether or not the item is authentic.
- Members must also upload pictures displaying the item’s authenticity as clearly as possible.
- Referring to other brands not related to your item in the brand category or title/description areas of your listing, or as a hashtag, is not allowed.
- The use of words such as "inspired by" followed by a brand is generally prohibited on our platform.
- You must have permission to post text or an image that was created/published by someone else.
-
Photo requirements
Images used in your listing must meet the following criteria:
- They must represent the item as is—no photo editing allowed. We also recommend clearly showing any defects, scratches, wear, etc.
- Photos should be clear and well focused.
- Photos must be taken by you for the purpose of posting them on Vinted.
- They cannot be replaced with stock photos, photos from ads or watermarked images.
- The first photo should clearly show the whole item. You’re free to choose how to showcase your item in the other photos. Note: You can upload up to 10 photos per listing.
- Photos must showcase your item’s authenticity. Check out our tips for this here.
Commercial Activities
We do not allow commercial listings. Your listings may be considered commercial in nature if they meet one or more of the following criteria (this list is not exhaustive):
- you buy or sell in large volumes (considering the number of transactions made, and/or amount of revenue earned);
- you sell a large quantity of brand new items, including items with tags and/or low-value items;
- you sell clothing or other items of the same style, but in a range of colours and sizes;
- you sell items with a note such as "can be ordered on request”;
- you sell items that you have purchased with the express intent to resell;
- your sales are intended to generate a regular source of income;
- you have a legal status that allows you to engage in commercial selling activities and you sell for your business;
- you sell items that you make as a designer and/or maker;
- you act on behalf of a particular trader or through another person, using their name and acting on their behalf, in exchange for remuneration or an incentive;
- you rent items or offer services;
- your listings use images from the Internet or stock photos.
We do not allow members to add notes such as ‘sold’, ‘currently out of stock’, ‘check back later’, etc. to the listing title when it has already been sold, swapped or given it away. Please delete your items that are no longer available for sale.
All listings and other posts related to auctioning or bidding activities are prohibited. If your item price is unusually low or high and doesn’t seem to match the item’s true value, we may consider the listing to be an auction. Learn how to set a reasonable price for your item.
Penalties
When a member disregards our catalogue rules, we may take the following measures:
- If a reported listing needs some changes, we send a message to the member informing them about the actions they need to take within 48 hours. If the member doesn’t take these actions within the requested time frame, their item will be blocked.
- If a reported listing includes a forbidden item, we remove the listing from the member’s closet and we send them a message informing of the reason for the removal.
- If a member uploads forbidden items (i.e. items from the prohibited items list described above, items of a commercial nature and all other items that breach our T&C and/or Catalogue Rules) repeatedly, we may suspend their account (e.g. for a period of 7 days) or even block it permanently, and send a message to the member informing them of our decision.
Our team reserves the right to change the catalogue rules as needed. If you have any questions about these rules, please contact our team and we’ll be happy to assist you.
If you see an item that doesn’t seem to comply with our rules, please do not hesitate to report it to us.
